Daryl Bart has been nominated by Sand Lake Democrats to run for the Sand Lake Town Board this November. 

This is a special election for a 1-year term. 

Daryl, with her husband, Dr. Joe Lapinski, and their two children, have been an integral part of our community for 25 years. She has a deep commitment and a wealth of experience in community service: 

⦁ 20 years of managing the family's small business

⦁ Active member of the Burden Lake Association

⦁ 10 years as Trustee of Averill Park Education Foundation 

⦁ Former Board of Advisors to the Greenbush YMCA

⦁ Regular contributor to Our Towne Magazine

⦁ Holds BA & MA degrees in Communication from UAlbany

Daryl's goals: 

⦁ Make Sand Lake an even better place to live and grow a business, using the Town's master plan as a guide.

⦁ Prioritizing information and communication systems, so our residents can be more engaged, better informed and can actively participate in town government.

⦁ Identify ways to make Town operations more environmentally friendly.

⦁ Lower Town costs through shared services with neighboring municipalities.

⦁ Improve transparency when addressing complex issues like the Burden Lake Road closure.

⦁ Use Town powers to help neighborhoods address local issues, including groundwater sufficiency, road safety for walkers and cyclists, and water quality in our lakes.
